Two-Dimensional Coordinate Systems

A two-dimensional coordinate system is often used to specify the position of a point. A two-dimensional coordinate system consists of two axes  which are called x- axis and y-axis. X axis is horizontal and Y axis is vertical.

Every point on the coordinate system has two coordinates.

The point B has the coordinates (2, 6). It has 2 from the x-axis and 6 from the y-axis.
